With so much talk about pensioners getting involved in buy to let once they can access their full pension pot next year, lenders are loosening their criteria. The Mortgage Works has removed all of the upper age limits from its buy to let products in anticipation of an influx of pensioners.
Santander has loosened its criteria in favour of self-employed buy to let applicants. There are still a few restrictions, however, so make sure you read the terms here. And always use a specialist broker to find you the most suitable package.
The Mansfield Building Society is now offering a discounted 2 year buy to let deal. It is available up to 70% loan to value (LTV) at 3.29% up to £300,000 (there is also a £199 application fee and £999 completion fee).
All in all, landlords have been impressed by the increasingly favourable and numerous options. According to a survey by specialist lender Paragon, 44% felt that finance was readily available, the highest figure since records began in 2010.
