Estate agent picture or crime scene photo?

There are bad estate agent pictures, and then there are the ones that look like a crime scene. Literally. We put together a mixture of real estate agent and crime scene photos, to see if you can tell the difference. The answers are at the bottom of the page.

1. Marcel Duchamp

Is that toilet a  bold artist statement made by the previous tenant? Or is something more sinister going on here?

2. Thomas the Tank Engine

Come on guys, those eyes definitely don’t follow you around the room. Nothing creepy about that at all.

3. Warm and cheery

Even the slimiest of shiny-suited estate agents would struggle to tell you that this kitchen was the vibrant heart of the home. But there’s nothing out of the ordinary going on here… Is there?

4. A little clutter

There’s something odd about this room. Maybe it’s because someone died in there, or maybe it’s nothing.

5. A lot of clutter

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Just because somebody is a compulsive hoarder, it doesn’t mean that they’re a serial killer. Probably.

6. Something definitely died

It’s obvious what happened here. Someone dragged a wet sack of potatoes into the middle of the room, left them for a bit, then dragged them back out again. Totally innocent!

7. Leaf lover

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with making a nice pile of dry leaves in the living room. Definitely not the sort of thing a psychopath would do.

8. Calming blue

The room has lovely blue walls, a cute metal framed bed and a tastefully framed picture on the wall. So why is it so creepy?

9. Time capsule

This is probably what a Foxtons estate agent would describe as “benefiting from period features”. That lava lamp does look very suspicious.

10. Might want to change the bedding

Is this room being advertised as “fully furnished”, or is a police forensics team about to take it apart?
